INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS TO WATCH®
The National Forum’s International Schools to Watch (ISTW)® program seeks to identify and honor diverse, high-performing model middle-level schools and programs outside of the United States that demonstrate what all schools with middle-level grades should be and are capable of achieving. We believe that all young adolescent students deserve middle-grades schools and programs that are academically excellent, developmentally appropriate, socially equitable, and organized to sustain continuous improvement.
The National Forum’s Schools to Watch® program is currently run in eighteen (18) states in the United States. However, we understand that sometimes a school desires to be designated as a STW®, but isn’t located within the United States. For this reason, the National Forum Board of Directors formed the International Schools to Watch (ISTW)® program. We are currently accepting Initial Designation Applications for schools outside of the United States in an effort to a) give the school the recognition that they deserve and b) encourage the use of research-based, best practices for working with young adolescents to become the norm around the world.
